“You can’t start the next chapter of your life if you keep re-reading the last one.”

It has been only recently that I appreciated the value of looking at my life as a book and the fact that I am the author of my own story.  It is quite empowering to hold your own pencil and create an outline on the blank pages in front of you.  I also realized that I am not only the author, but I can also be the main character, I can choose my setting, I can pick my own supporting characters.  I can also be my own editor, making changes along the way if I am not satisfied with how my story is unfolding.  Now granted, not all books become bestsellers, and that is certainly the case with life as well.  As much as we would love to have self-determination in every facet of our future, life obviously does not work out that way.

But what else can we control?  Do we permit ourselves to write those chapters that have yet to be determined?  Or do we keep re-reading the chapters that we have already turned the pages on, namely, our past?  If so, does that cause writer’s block?  Are we really able to turn the page if we are stuck in the same place and can’t, (or won’t) move forward?  Good news – all best-selling authors start out as novice writers.  We all need to start somewhere.  Are you ready to turn the page and let the next chapter unfold?  I can help you with your rough draft. Schedule a call with me, I would love to hear all about your storyline!
